The Burleson Public Library is hosting a writer’s seminar on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, and I will present a session on self-editing titled, “So You Wanna Be a Writer?” In it, I will describe many of the errors new(ish) writers make—errors like point-of-view issues (also known as head-hopping), telling instead of showing, common fluff words, and filter words that remove the reader from the story.
The class is free. If you’re considering a future as a writer, come. Learn how to polish your manuscript so the next editor you submit your work to will have no reason to turn you down.
